Okay, Author Blake Pierce. You have a verrrrrrry sneaky marketing technique and it caught me hook, line and sinker. You give away the first book in each of your series, hopelessly enmesh your readers in the characters, and voila! They have to buy the entire series because the books are seriously that good. Not only that, somehow I came by this book - Riley Paige Mystery #8 - for .99 cents on Kindle. Did you do that????? Because even though this is a standalone mystery (and I had read book #1 so had some background) I HAVE to read everything between 1 and 8 to get caught up with what is happening with Riley, her FBI work, and her family!!! And now I see you have actually written several different series, all of which have book #1 offered for FREE DOWNLOAD which I am about to do. I may have to get a second job flipping burgers, but by gosh I am going to read every dang book you write!!! Your books are so addicting!!! Thank you for the sneaky marketing methods which have introduced me to hours of reading pleasure. And please, keep writing!
Becoming Predictable
While I am a fan of this series, I wish the protagonist would grow. When I stopped reading a few books back, I left Riley Paige in the same mental space that she is still in, 3 books later...it's a bit of a downer. Yes, some old characters make an appearance (I will always be a fan of Jake), but Riley doesn't change. She continues to go between hot-headed trouble-maker, to down and out depressed, victim. It's not a matter of the writing, though...she is consistent in her psyche. She thinks about the impact her being away from her family has, she feels remorse and guilt, and when given an opportunity to change, she repeatedly doesn't. The author strings along the same routine throughout nearly every book, and I, for one, am ready for a new formula.
A great police mystery
I love this series and I find Riley Paige to be a complex detective who occasionally is contacted by a known killer that has escaped from prison and helps her solve cases. I would recommend it to anyone who likes police type books where the main character is always solving cases and going thru many twist and turns to get there.

Love this series! Riley Paige is such a badass character and the behavioral analysis factor is really intriguing. I haven't been able to stop reading this series since I received a copy of Watching (The Making Of Riley Paige #1) as part of a giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I'm hooked
Cold Case Solved
I'm so frustrated with Agent Paiges lack of focus on her daughters. It is almost as if she is as psychotic as the people she chases. Please give he daughters some stability in their lives. No teenagers should be treated this way.

I have become a huge fan of Blake Pierce, and have all his/her books now ..(don't know if Blake is male or female!!) Look forward to all future books- but Riley is my fave character..
Great Read at a Great Price!
This was a good solid 4 star read! I gave the author an additional star; because since his books have gained a following, he hasn't jacked up his pricing on e-books, like so many other authors have done. I love Kindle-friendly writers, and my loyalty is to those who are loyal to their original following.
Insightful
You start with a Cold Case looking for the 25 year old murders of three young women. Detour to the Cold Case of Riley's Mother. And being tracked by Shane Hatcher. This book was more about why Riley is who she is
Hooked!!
I never tire from reading the Riley Paige Mysteries! I do take a break, as needed. Then I am, once again, buying the next book! As I am doing when I finish writing my review.
Page turner
Another fine example of great writing . Page turner till the end . Was on the edge of my seat , couldn't read it fast enough , and didn't want it to end . Keep up the good work and I'll keep reading . Thank you 😊
